I have loved art ever since my first Crayola. Drawing and painting were my primary mediums until my college years. I did study art history and still created during college, but as things got busier art fell off to the side. Canvas will always remain a dream & passion, but creating with fabric has been absolutely wonderful...beyond my expectations. Someday I hope to combine the two.
Ten years ago my oldest son wanted to be Robin Hood for Halloween, but I could not find a costume for him. I decided to make one myself. I bought the pattern & fabric and just went for it. I loved every minute of it. Costumes were pretty much all I did for the next few years, and then I tried my own clothes. It was fun, but not as rewarding. The winter holiday season came around one year and I decided to make gifts for family members...snowman and Santa heads, stuffed animals and baby accessories topped my entertainment center throughout December. Once the season ended, I just had to keep going.
I started making bags from purchased patterns and books. It was not long before I felt I had to expand and recreate designs I saw in magazines or those being used by people around me. These creations were my first source of handbag inspiration and a wonderful learning tool. Soon my family and friends started getting purses and totes as gifts. They gushed and told me I should sell them. I felt I wasn't quite at that point just yet. But then Grandma told me her friends were interested and since there is no arguing with a wise 95 year old...I started creating my own designs to sell.
I am still in the early business stages. I recently came up with a name and logo for my business. I keep creating my own designs and patterns. Construction has been done on some while others are still in the drafting stage. I have quite a few bags ready for purchase. They are no two exactly alike in their color and print schemes. The bags I made from patterns are also available (on the Limited page).

Here is that first costume...my son is now 13...so that was a while back.
